For the ones talking about a passive-aggressive behavior on my part, I wish to tell you that there's a simple reason I couldn't lash out at my mum as she told me about the cart: I have been fighting with her a lot recently. For her that kind of thing is normal and she would blame it on my temper instead of taking it as a serious issue.

My mother virtually spends EVERY waking hour reading and listening to wt material.I don't know for how long this display thingy has been going on. She casually mentioned it this morning as she was telling me of a (non-jw related) discussion she had with someone while sitting there.I was mortified. The thought of my mother sitting on a chair by a table full of wt stuff in front of my house is simply mortifying for me. Heck, I moved to this area barely 2 months ago and don't want to pass as a weirdo.I did not tell her anything on the spot because I want to clarify this situation in all calmness and tell her in a clear and concise way that home cart display is uncalled for and unacceptable in my house.I'm going away for the weekend and will talk to her when I return. Any suggestions as to how to convey the message effectively?In case this will help: I stopped attending meetings a year ago. -

It happened in a hall I attended during my teenage years. The brother was later declared mentally challenged though.
You know how silent the hall normally gets when after the middle song they call an elder for a "sad announcement", to the moment they finish making the announcement. In that unusual silence I heard, just inches behind my back a horrible bong bong bong bong noise . The guy actually had a bible in one hand at the moment they made the announcement, so he made his applause with one hand and the BIBLE which made that terrible noise. After applauding, he said loudly: "Bravo...Congratulations! and good job! The workers of the 11th hour are sacking the workers of the 1rst hour."(This is a literal translation, I'm' feeling too lazy to check that verse in the English bible).
I never ever forgot that moment nor those words. A total surprise! I, the goodie-2-shoes, was mortified; just wanted to vanish from my seat. I was sitting at the back of the hall, he was leaning against the back door.
In the end, his words were meaningless because he was a recent convert who climbed up the ladder in a flash. He was a reg. pioneer and a min. servant.
